In this Australian Financial Review article, AREEA argues it is not too late to unwind the CFMMEU merger. Chief executive Steve Knott said AREEA remained committed to the national interest and believe there are strong legal grounds to overturn this merger within the current laws. “The onus is now on the CFMEU and MUA in the meantime to demonstrate that it can in fact be law-abiding citizens and act in the interests of their members and the nation, not against them,”he said.
