A significant government report shows softer world growth and improved supply will lead to a 10 per cent dip in Australia’s resources and energy export earnings to $417 billion in 2023-24.

However, this is off the back of a record $466 billion in 2022-23 – spurred by post-COVID global expansion and an accompanying energy crunch.

A strong safety reporting culture has been identified in a comprehensive audit of Queensland’s mining industry.

The report found teams typically supported each other to work safely, and were encouraged by frontline leaders to stop work if they believed it was unsafe.
