AREEA facilitates the Australian Women in Resources Alliance (AWRA) a national workforce initiative to specifically increase female workforce participation and increase the resources and energy industries diversity and inclusion capability and workplace cultures.
In 2011, in response to the growing aspirations of AREEA members, AWRA was formed with the charter to assist employers on their gender diversity journey, with the overarching goal to increase women’s participation in the resources, allied and related construction sectors.
Over time this charter has expanded in response to sector focus to encompass the goals of improved sector practices with the ultimate goal of delivering a diverse mix of skills and talent to drive productivity, innovation and inclusive culture.
AWRA facilitates programs and provides support and guidance materials that help employers attract, retain and develop female talent, build their gender diversity capability, become an employer of choice for women and realise the advantages of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
