PREPARING employers for the ever-changing and challenging future for the workplace will be the focus as international human resources expert Dave Ulrich headlines the AREEA Resource Industry Employer Forum.

A global HR heavyweight, Ulrich will share his expertise with Australia’s resource and energy leaders at the event on 22 August in Perth.

Ulrich will explore Australia’s Future of Work and Implication for HR Trends and Talent, Leadership, and Culture.

“This is a unique opportunity for employers and professionals to learn from a global leader in HR,” AREEA Chief Executive Steve Knott AM said.

“It is the first time Dave Ulrich has made the journey to Perth, making for an unmissable opportunity for the West Coast to hear his game-changing HR teachings.

“In particular, Dave Ulrich will deliver on important subjects for employers, passing on his expertise in dealing with automation and how this changing skills dynamic impacts on the culture of an organisation.”

Mr Knott said it was an opportunity for industry to take away innovative ideas that can be turned into improvements in the sector.

In the past 15 years Dave Ulrich has visited 88 countries and consulted with half of the global 100 biggest companies in the world.

“Industry leaders are already dealing with the challenges of the changing nature of work and by tapping into Dave’s vast global experience, our industry will be able to collaborate and troubleshoot any issues about the changing levels of digitisation and automation, demographics and the political trends that are constantly moving and affecting our sector,” Mr Knott said.

Ulrich will also share how the employee of the future is very different and the need to connect with each other and to individuate and to help employees find a sense of purpose from the work they do is now what matters.

“By examining the key trends emerging in HR, the benefits of strong HR management and the downfalls of poor HR management, I know everyone in the room will take something away that can be implemented to improve their own productivity,” Mr Knott said.
