Cameron Burchell is a Principal Workplace Relations Advisor in AREEA’s Western Australian team.
He is a senior human resources and workplace relations professional with extensive experience in the energy and resources sector across Australia and internationally; and has previously been employed with asset owners and service companies in the mining and oil & gas industries.
Before joining AREEA, Cameron spent a substantial portion of his career with a US-based multinational oilfield services business, rising to the level of HR leader for the Asia Pacific Region. In that role, he was responsible for leading a multi-disciplined and geographically diverse team of HR professionals across a region including Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Papua New Guinea and China.
Cameron has the skills and experience required to support AREEA members across a wide variety of business activities, including: negotiating enterprise agreements; performance management and investigations; organisational design and restructuring, change management; mergers & acquisitions; tendering – including drafting Employee Relations Management Plans; policy development and review; workforce planning; remuneration and benefits; learning and development; and Work Health & Safety – particularly fitness for work.
He is pragmatic, commercially-minded, and has an abiding interest in supporting the growth of businesses by achieving synergies between technical excellence, commercial success and the best interests of employees.
Cameron holds a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations.
