Supported by Biz Better Together and facilitated by resource industry employer group AMMA, the Australian Women in Resources Alliance (AWRA) is this November hosting three unique half-day workshops aimed at “Enhancing Workplace Diversity” in Australia’s resource industry.
Biz Better Together is an Australian Chamber initiative that is engaging and driving value for businesses across Australia through events, training, in-depth articles, tips on social media and much more.
Taking place in Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne, the 2016 AWRA Workshops will bring together the leading authorities on workplace diversity in the resource industry, delivering the following topics:
Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks – 10 years’ on, we reflect on what works
2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks, a research and practical-based publication driven by the ultimate goal of diversity and inclusion — improved organisational performance.
In this workshop, we will breakdown how the benchmarks can assist your organisation and review the findings of the 2016 edition, including updated standards and lessons from industry.
The compounding effect, and economic impact of stereotyping, presented by Susanne Moore
Discover how stereotyping might be holding you and your organisation back. Learn how stereotypes are formed by looking back over the journey of society and how this development is represented across generations.
This session will also explore how gender and culture affects the way we value individuals.
Achieving diversity goals – what your peers are doing?
This practical session explores what your peer organisations are doing to achieve their diversity goals, allowing you to benchmark and take home lessons for your own organisation.
We’ll take a tour of the resources and allied industries landscape to explore what the most commonly deployed and effective strategies to further diversity in these traditionally male dominated industries. Hear a wrap up, directly from your colleagues and input yourself into this interactive session.
