The 2023 Activities Report is a comprehensive account of AREEA’s key activities, industry programs and campaigns in support of members over the past 12 months.

With the Albanese Government embarking on the most significant changes to Australia’s employment regulation since the Fair Work Act took effect in 2009, AREEA has been on the policy and advocacy frontlines.

Lobbying and collaborating with other industry groups – while consulting members extensively – AREEA has pushed back against proposals that threaten productivity, jobs, costs and flexibility in the resources and energy sector.

This edition of the AREEA Activities Report outlines the scope and success of such work, recognising there is more to do.

In 2023, AREEA’s other core activities have continued apace, harnessing the specialist knowledge of a national team to support members in all aspects of workplace relations: expert advisory services, workforce development and skilling including diversity and inclusion and mental health, industry collaboration and engagement, education and awareness, updates and communications.

For 105 years, AREEA has provided its hard-working membership with every assistance to tackle the complex and unique issues facing resources and energy employers.

As the 2023 Activities Report shows, this is a tradition founded in practical action and meaningful outcomes.
