Two thousand students across New South Wales and Queensland have been inspired to study the subjects which unlock resources and energy careers, following today’s wrap-up of AREEA’s Bright Future Stem Primary Schools’ term two visits.
Schoolkids from North Queensland, Brisbane, Toowoomba and regional NSW centres such as Goulburn and Dubbo got hands-on with resources and energy careers thanks to the help of AREEA members supporting the Bright Future STEM program.
Female industry role models are a particularly critical part of the program as young girls see first-hand how Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects link back to real jobs in the resources and energy industry.
With today’s events now concluded in Keperra, Brisbane, the Bright Future STEM Team have concluded an outstanding term 2, and will head into its term 3 program with a head full of steam. All AREEA members are encouraged to find out more and join this growing initiative.
What is the Bright Future STEM program?
Launched in 2019 to overwhelming industry response, AREEA’s national, school-based Bright Future STEM program is building momentum and reaching more students in more parts of Australia.
AREEA thanks its members who have participated with Bright Future STEM to date, and encourages other members to learn how they can get involved.
