AREEA’s Activities Report 2025 has now been published, providing members with a comprehensive overview of AREEA’s achievements, advocacy, and member support over the past year.
With the Albanese Government’s sweeping industrial relations reforms now firmly in effect, Australian employers are navigating the most complex and interventionist workplace environment in a generation.
Against this backdrop, AREEA has continued to deliver exceptional value and protection for members. Our Activities Report details how AREEA has been front and centre, translating new laws into practical guidance; leading the debate on ‘same job, same pay’, redundancy obligations, delegates’ rights, and other major IR issues; and advocating fearlessly for balanced, competitive workplaces.
Beyond advocacy, the report showcases how AREEA continues to deliver tangible benefits for members through our trusted workplace advisory services and industry-leading resources on workplace behaviour, psychosocial safety, and diversity and inclusion.
Flagship initiatives delivered for members over the past year include:
- Releasing the biannual Resources and Energy Industry Workforce Insights and Remuneration Report in partnership with Remsmart
- Publishing the sixth annual edition of our Resources and Energy Workforce Forecast series of reports, showing continued major project growth in our sector will require nearly 30,000 new workers by 2028
- Engaging more than 10,000 students through our Bright Future STEM Primary School Program, with over 20 participating members in nearly all states and territories
- Delivering specialist training and leadership programs across a range of areas, from workplace behaviour to negotiation and compliance, equipping members with the confidence to manage workforce risk
- Providing analysis and thought-leadership through our New Horizons Thought Leadership series and a range of innovative resources to support people and culture needs such as our psychosocial safety and wellbeing tools and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Maturity Assessment tool.
In addition, AREEA is proud to facilitate the largest and most diverse network of resources and energy industry professionals, with extraordinary engagement across industry and government briefings, webinars and online Q&A sessions.
Through our Board Reference Group, three advisory boards and 16 special interest groups, we work closely with members to shape policy positions that ensure AREEA’s advocacy and activities reflect a true multi-commodity, multi-jurisdiction perspective grounded in the real world priorities of Australia’s resources and energy employers.
In a challenging IR landscape, AREEA membership means expertise, influence, and partnership, ensuring you remain informed, compliant and competitive.
