Last week AREEA proudly delivered the opening session of our Resources and Energy Industry Mental Health Training Program.

This industry-first, national program gives employers the practical tools to manage workplace mental health, specific to resources and energy workplaces.

Delivered by subject matter expert Liz Tobin and AREEA Director Operations Tara Diamond (both pictured right) participants received key insights, applications, practical activities, and practice mental health-based conversations as they relate to workplaces and situations in our industry.

The program is being delivered to build on resources and energy industry employers’ dedication to physical and psychological safety across their workplaces.

Sessions are already under way as this unique program provides participants with tools and practices to support their business to be a mentally healthy and safe workplace. The training covers a range of mental health theories and the application of important mental health workplace concepts and frameworks.

This program has been developed under the direction and guidance of AREEA’s Resources and Energy Industry Mental Health Advisory Board. It was originally developed as a one-day course but has been fine-tuned for delivery as a facilitated online, three hour interactive program to cater for site and workplace restrictions.
