The convenience of using remote technology has come to the fore in recent weeks for AREEA’s Bright Future STEM program.
While lockdowns and border restrictions have made it tricky for the program to be delivered in-person at schools across the country, an increasing number of companies are making the most of technology by dialing in to present via Microsoft Teams.
Earlier this month, primary school students interacted with STEM industry professionals from Anglo American and ConocoPhillips joined remotely by Bengalla Mining Company (New Hope Group) counterparts who made full use of technology and dialed in via Teams.
Students were inspired about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and how these fields apply to diverse and rewarding careers in resources and energy, thanks to the amazing role models Jamie Walters, Emily Fear, Nic Christodoulou, Cassandra Eshman and Cassy Barnes.
AREEA encourages any companies who would like to take part in the program to consider using remote technology.
To date, almost 7000 students have experienced the Bright Future STEM program with plans to expand its reach in 2022.
