Tom Reid is an experienced corporate affairs, advocacy and public policy professional with an array of experience managing complex stakeholders, campaigns and projects.
He develops and leads AREEA’s advocacy in support of the resources and energy industry’s workplace policy positions, including the Group’s industrial relations campaigns for the 2013, 2016 and 2019 Federal Elections, and regular submissions to federal and state parliamentary and department processes.
He also consults to AREEA members across the Australian resources and energy industry on strategic internal and external communications activities, including crisis management protocols and enterprise bargaining communications plans.
Tom also leads delivery of AREEA’s industry and workforce campaigns and projects, including its Resources Workforce Forecasting reports, campaigns to counter trade union and anti-industry activism, and best practice community messaging and employee engagement framework.
Before moving into corporate affairs and advocacy, Tom was a specialist business and legal journalist who extensively covered the “investment and construction boom” of Australia’s resources and energy industry.
He holds qualifications in Business Administration, Communications, and Public Participation.
