Peter Robertson is part of the Western Australian AREEA team and focuses on providing a comprehensive range of member services in industrial relations and human resource management.
Peter offers holistic solutions to employers across all employee relations issues, including enterprise bargaining, disciplinary and/or termination matters, Equal Employment Opportunity issues, the development and implementation of company employee relations policies and strategic planning in redundancy and transfer of business situations.
Recently, he has assisted AREEA members through issues such as good faith bargaining, protected industrial action, employer response action and union right of entry.
He is also actively involved in delivering customised training to members on topics such as union right of entry, equal employment opportunity awareness, performance management and contact officer training.
Peter has an in-depth understanding of employment-related legislation and is well versed in assisting employers develop competitive positions through the application and implementation of legislative requirements into their business.
Before joining AREEA in 2006, Peter worked for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia for 15 years in the provision of strategic employee and industrial relations advice. This included the preparation, negotiation and implementation of enterprise and individual agreements.
Peter also handled representation and advocacy in various industrial tribunals and courts on a wide range of matters including union disputes, unfair dismissal and wages claims within a variety of industry sectors such as transport, metals and engineering, health and aged care, industrial catering and cleaning, contract cleaning, aboriginal communities and agriculture.
Peter holds a Master of Industrial Relations, a Bachelor of Science and a Diploma of Education.
