AREEA, the resources and energy industry group congratulates Senator Michaelia Cash on her promotion to the portfolio of Minister for Jobs and Innovation.

AREEA Chief Executive Steve Knott AM said Senator Cash had proven to be an “outstanding and effective minister”.

“Her promotion to head up a super-ministry is well deserved and supported by the resources and energy industry,” Mr Knott said.

“By any measure, the Senator has been one of Prime Minister Turnbull’s most effective ministers in the Turnbull Government,” Mr Knott said.

“She has achieved substantial and important legislative reform including the re-introduction of the Australian Building and Construction Commission and the establishment of the Registered Organisations Commission.”

AREEA also extends congratulations to the Minister for Small & Family Business, Workplaces and Deregulation, Craig Laundy.

“AREEA is confident Minister Laundy will be an effective minister having worked with him previously on the workforce skilling initiative; the Apprenticeship Reform Advisory Group, and welcomes the opportunity to work with him on workplace relations,” Mr Knott said.

“AREEA understands that the new Minister for Workplaces, Minister Laundy, will be working very closely with Minster Cash who is and will continue to be an experienced, strong and well-credentialed voice on workforce relations matters at the Coalition Government’s cabinet table.”
